Our Personal Story
How did I become the Commander? It started with a "Code Red" of my own.
My wife and I started our RV journey five years ago with a pre-owned, 25′ Forest River Grey Wolf travel trailer. That trailer was a great learning experience for us. Having owned a home handyman business, I was already familiar with repairs and modifications, so adapting to RV maintenance was an easy transition.
I quickly learned that an RV’s plumbing was vastly different from residential systems. I searched through endless forums and YouTube channels to learn the “art” of draining and flushing. After our first trip, I thought I had mastered it. I backflushed until the water ran clear. Or so I thought…
About halfway through our second trip, we realized something had gone horribly wrong. The “aroma” wafting out of our bathroom was unlike anything human I had experienced during years of working on residential plumbing. I discovered that a “standard flush” doesn’t remove “all” of what’s in the tank. I was experiencing the joy of camping in my new RV while also enjoying the “remnants” of the previous owner’s experience!
After studying the science of struvites, residual sludge, and fouled sensors, I realized that average tools weren’t enough. I invested in professional training and specialized hydro-jetting equipment to correct the problem myself. I soon realized I had a wonderful opportunity to help other RVers rid themselves of similar, unsavory “memories.”Â
